Three steps, all inside the patient's chart in Epic
Open the app from the chart
Your Epic team adds the app to the patient chart. Staff open it from the patient or encounter they're working in, inside Epic.
Check the details and request the ride
Patient name, date of birth, and MRN fill in from the chart. Add the pickup and destination addresses, the pickup time, and the department and room, then create the request.
Track it, and it's written back to the chart
The request moves from sent to Lyft to assigned, with the estimated pickup time, the route, and the drop-off ETA. The ride is written back to the patient's chart in Epic, and completed trips stay in the patient's ride history.
Schedule Lyft rides without leaving Epic
No separate portal
Rides are requested inside Epic, so nobody retypes patient details into another website.
Details filled from the chart
The request opens with the patient's details already in place, pulled from Epic through FHIR.
Status and ETA in one place
See the request status, estimated pickup, route, and drop-off ETA in the app window inside the chart.
Written back to the chart
The ride is written back to the patient's chart in Epic, and every Lyft trip booked for the patient stays in their ride history.
Department workflows and approvals
VectorCare sets up the request form for each department and can add an approval step where your policy needs one.
Activity across departments
Review ride activity by department instead of pulling it from separate logins.
Built for the rides your team already books

Rides home from the ED
Request the ride as the patient is discharged, with pickup at the ED entrance or discharge lounge.
Rides home at discharge
Schedule the ride ahead of the discharge time and set the pickup for when the patient will be ready.
Shelters, rehab, and skilled nursing
When a sedan ride is appropriate, send the patient to a shelter, rehab facility, or skilled nursing facility. The destination is any address you enter.
Follow-up and specialty visits
Book rides to follow-up, primary care, and specialty appointments for the date and time you choose, including before the patient leaves.
Recurring rides
Set up a standing order once for patients with repeat appointments, such as dialysis, instead of booking each ride by hand.
